Responsibilities
- Enhancing security awareness and vigilance on board the ship.
- Responding to threats and risks, and reporting them to the company and ship's master.
- Implementing and maintaining the ship's security plan, including regular updates as needed.
- Monitoring ship security systems and conducting basic security checks.
- Coordinating activities related to cargo handling and supplies in the context of security.
- Participating in Ship Security Assessments (SSA).
- Training the crew on security procedures and methods to enhance ship security.
- Reporting all security incidents to the company and ship's master.
- Collaborating with ship personnel and port authorities to ensure safety during all operations.
- Operating, testing, calibrating, and maintaining ship security equipment.
Qualifications and Required Certifications
- Knnowledge of English Lananguage Level minimum B1
- Experience minimum one year in the military, law enforcement, or commercial security.
- STCW95 Certificate (4 Modules)
- SSO (Ship Security Officer) or PDSD (Proficiency in Designated Security Duties)
- Completion of the MSO (Maritime Security Operative) course is a big plus
- Valid Seaman Book.
- Valid ENG1 Seafarer Medical Certificate.
- Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.
- Negative results in drug and alcohol testing (maximum 12 months).
- Recent criminal record clearance (maximum 12 months).
